Work is designed to teach responsibility, increase self-esteem, self-sufficiency and self worth. Work also teaches our youth how each family member must share responsibilities in order for all members of the family to benefit. In addition, a regular work schedule helps the youths develop a sense of stability and consistency in their lives. The goal is to transfer this consistency into their normal lives once they leave Tri-State.
Staff personnel provide instruction and assistance in completing work-related tasks. Work includes helping youth undertake those activities which are part of normal everyday living such as making a bed, doing laundry, washing dishes, etc.
